Getting even nearer to customers with a new organization

Swiss Post’s branch network, which employs 5,500 staff, is to be transformed into a modern organization: the networking of the extensive experience of these employees at the customer front will be improved and the scope for entrepreneurial freedom at the grassroots level strengthened. Teams will be created that will work at several branches in a district, where they will be responsible for all Swiss Post access points. As a result of the new team organization, the management structure will also be adapted. Positions will be filled starting in May 2019 at the earliest. The new team organization will have no impact on the number of branches in the postal network.

Drones: Swiss Post to regularly transport lab samples across the Zurich lake basin in future

As of 17 December 2018, Swiss Post will begin transporting lab samples across the Zurich lake basin on behalf of the Zentrallabor Zürich (ZLZ) lab. Test flights in June demonstrated that the drones provide true added value to the laboratory. They are about five times faster than conventional road transport, save valuable time for patients and are also more ecological.

The people of Lugano have become accustomed to seeing the Swiss Post drone in the skies. It reliably transports blood samples an average of 15 times a day, back and forth between two hospitals – and it keeps getting faster. It can now also fly in rainy weather.
